Restaurants Within New Cumberland Borough limits:
The Loft Eatery – One of the newest restaurants in the area at 321 Bridge Street is quickly gaining a loyal following. The Yelp reviews are fantastic and all of the dishes they talk about on their Facebook page sound amazing. And a quick look at their menu’s shows that prices are more than reasonable and the choices are plenty. You can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Fratelli’s Towne Tavern – Another new restaurant in the borough at 209 3rd Street. This establishment replaced Carnahan’s last year. They serve home made Italian dishes and also have a bar and entertainment many nights. Their Yelp reviews are pretty good and their Facebook following has grown quickly. The menu shows very good prices and a wide selection of dishes as well.
TJ’s Homestyle – If you are looking for a good and affordable breakfast or lunch, look no further. TJ’s has been at 600 Bridge Street for as long as I can remember and they always have people inside. Their menu is vast and affordable. The Yelp reviews are almost all glowing. And if you want to know what specials are coming, just check out their Facebook page.
Shugar’s Philly Deli – The initially started over in Lemoyne before quickly outgrowing that space. Now they reside in the former Dingeldein Bakery space at 316 Bridge Street and their subs are amazing. Their Yelp reviews support this and while their prices are a bit higher than what you might pay for another sub, they are definitely worth it. You can follow them on Facebook as well. If you are a Philly sports fan you will feel right at home!
Nick’s 114 Cafe – If you are looking for a place to enjoy a good drink and some company, check out Nick’s at 114 Bridge Street. The reviews aren’t as glowing as the places above, but I have never personally had a bad experience there. The menu is vast with sandwiches, burgers, steak, chicken, pasta, seafood, wings, and plenty more. Prices are reasonable as well. Check them out on Facebook as well.
Pete’s Olde Towne Bar and Grill – Another longtime establishment in the borough, Pete’s is a bit off the main drag at 401 Market Street, but is definitely worth a stop. The menu is good with pizza, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and entree’s. Prices are definitely good as well. Reviews, like at Nick’s, aren’t as glowing as others, but again I have never had a problem. Definitely follow along on Facebook to stay updated with upcoming happenings.
Legends Wicked Wings – I can’t say I have ever heard of this place before, but who doesn’t love wings!?! They are in business at 213 3rd Street in the borough and they keep it simple on their menu with pizza, wings, and a few subs. And the prices seem fair compared to other wing places. Yelp reviews are good and they are pretty active on Facebook.
The Garlic Poet Restaurant & Bar – Situated in the Clarion Hotel off Limekiln Road at 148 Sheraton Drive, the Garlic Poet is a place that prides itself on making each dish from scratch. Seasonal menu’s are featured and the prices are reasonable considering the food you are served. Yelp reviews are fantastic and their Facebook page is updated regularly with information.
Fireside – Sitting at the corner of Lewisberry Road and Old York Road you have surely seen this place at some point or another. Their Yelp reviews aren’t stellar, but aren’t terrible either. Their menu is vast with salads, sandwiches, steak, seafood, ribs, and more…and the prices are fair. They have a Facebook page, but it hasn’t been updated in about a year.
John’s Diner – If you are looking for affordable and simple, then John’s Diner at 146 Sheraton Drive is definitely worth a stop. I have had breakfast there a couple of times and it is what you would expect…diner food. Which is sometimes all you want. Their Yelp reviews are pretty good for a diner and their dinner menu (can’t find a breakfast menu online) includes everything you can think of. Like Fireside, they have a Facebook page but it isn’t updated frequently.
There are plenty of other restaurants in New Cumberland, including pizza places, Chinese restaurants, fast food joints, and dessert options. I tried to keep it to places where you can sit down and have a meal though. Although I am such a fan of Shugar’s that I included it even though I always get my food to go.
If you are looking for a good slice of pizza, I encourage you to check out Original Pizza at 113 Old York Road. I have had pizza from many places in the mid-state and their’s is consistently as good as it gets. I would rank it in my top 5 for sure.
If you live or work in New Cumberland consider eating at any of these places. I purposely didn’t include any chain restaurants as I wanted to feature locally owned and run places. Hope you enjoy.
